Sustainability

Our commitment to sustainability

The events sector is vital to thriving communities, providing the means to unite in collaboration and celebration, but with this comes a duty of care for our environment. Never has it been more important to put sustainability at the forefront of event planning.

Viva Esprit consider it our responsibility to make an impact on guests, while also limiting the impact of events on the environment. By guiding our clients and working with our suppliers, we make the best, most sustainable choices that create phenomenal occasions for our audiences. We don’t see sustainability as a compromise, we see it as a crucial opportunity to reshape how we think and make positive changes that ensure the longevity of our industry and our world.

Benchmarking with Greengage

We take our responsibility to the planet seriously, and are embarking on our sustainability journey with Greengage, the event sector’s sustainability leaders using their ECOSmart accreditation system.

ECOSmart

ECOsmart accreditation system is used to demonstrate commitment to environmental sustainability, continually recognising sustainability improvements.

How we’re already driving sustainability

We recognise that with such an influential industry, there are endless opportunities to improve on sustainability measures, and we’re committed to doing what we can. We know that small changes can make a big difference and we’ve already made a start. Here are a few ways we’re doing better for the planet, and encourage our clients to do the same:

Digital first

Where possible, we use digital alternatives, rather than paper.

Energy saving

We look at the impact of energy and water consumption and actively seek sustainable alternatives.

Sustainable travel

Where feasible, our team will take the more sustainable transport to and from events, such as train over plane

Food waste reduction

We advise our clients on the potential to reduce food waste. For example, we encourage batching service, to ensure that only food that is likely to be consumed will leave the kitchen.
